Hound Around

The Hound Around was a charity walking event. The basic idea was to get people to make a pledge per mile that you and your pet would walk. We thought it would be a great way to help out the Great Dane Rescue and a good way to get some exercise. Of course, we had to bring a dog and, after some debate¹, Syd was selected.

Turnout at the event was less than expected and at the appointed time we appeared to be the only walkers on-hand. The original plan had been for Steve to wait while Kristie walked², but with so few people, Steve walked too³.

It was a fun day and a great time and we even managed to win some cool raffle prizes and, of course, to get Syd a new jacket at a very reasonable⁴ price.

1. Not much debate really - we knew Snuggles wouldn't be able to walk 5 miles and Dora gets so skittish around crowds Syd was really the only choice.
2. Yeah, Steve is lazy, but at least he admits it.
3. Those who contributed definitely got there moneys worth in terms of calories burned.
4. Technically, Steve doesn't believe there is a "reasonable" price for dog clothing.
