Hound Around
The Hound Around was a charity walking event. The basic idea was to get people to make a pledge per mile that you and your pet would walk. We thought it would be a great way to help out the Great Dane Rescue and a good way to get some exercise. Of course, we had to bring a dog and, after some debate1, Syd was selected.
Turnout at the event was less than expected and at the appointed time we appeared to be the only walkers on-hand. The original plan had been for Steve to wait while Kristie walked2, but with so few people, Steve walked too3.
It was a fun day and a great time and we even managed to win some cool raffle prizes and, of course, to get Syd a new jacket at a very reasonable4 price.
- Not much debate really - we knew Snuggles wouldn't be able to walk 5 miles and Dora gets so skittish around crowds Syd was really the only choice.
- Yeah, Steve is lazy, but at least he admits it.
- Those who contributed definitely got there moneys worth in terms of calories burned.
- Technically, Steve doesn't believe there is a "reasonable" price for dog clothing.
