The Proposal

In a rare moment of kindness, Steve's Boss gave him a few days off right around Valentine's Day. Steve's plan was to head up to Marion on Tuesday and surprise Kristie by proposing. He had to tell her he wouldn't be in the office for Valentine's so she wouldn't be disappointed if her arrangements fell through. He arrived and, after a few minutes of chit chat, presented her with her lovely underdog ring.

Kristie was very excited by the ring and for a minute Steve feared she wasn't going to open it. Meanwhile, he fumbled with the other ring in his free hand. Eventually (probably three seconds later, although it seemed like forever to Steve) she did open it and spotted the candy inside.

She turned to say yes and Steve had the other ring out. She put it on and it almost fit (luckily Steve had gotten the size wrong, but had guessed bigger). During the ensuing phone calls, Kristie excitedly told everyone about her new Underdog secret pill compartment ring.
