Linoleum Larceny
So after years of disuse1 and weeks of discussion2, our guest room has been razed and will soon be a pet room3. Thus far, Kristie has done almost all the work from removing the old contents to lugging the bed out, to ripping up the carpet. She even discussed the new floor treatment with Steve's dad.
Anyhow, this weekend it was time to pick out the colors for the new room. Kristie, despite her better judgment, decided to bring Steve along to the Home Depot. They looked at a number of vinyl floor coverings before settling on one. They took a sample and headed for the paint department. After several minutes it became clear that they weren't going to agree on a color4 and wouldn't be able to resove it all right then. Armed with samples and paint chips they made their way to the exit.
The registers were backed up with people everywhere. Kristie stopped to get in line. Steve kept going. There was some discussion as Kristie thought the linoleum samples had to be purchased. Steve disagreed since they were, after all, samples.
The next day they met up with Steve's dad5 and discussed their choices. Kristie asked about paying for the samples and, after looking at the linoleum samples again, Dad agreed that yes, they were meant to be for sale and Steve was, in fact, a shoplifter.
- We've had few overnight guests and only three have slept in it.
