Bosnia

There's a long-standing joke about one of the guys Steve games with playing in Bosnia on Sundays. The joke stems from him being unable to make it to games before 10:00 or so. His other game ends and it's a 45+ minute drive from there to anywhere.

In Detroit, that's kind of a long time to get from one place to another, particularly Steve's house, which is less than a mile from three major freeways. The other players began to refer to him as "gaming in Bosnia¹" to explain his absence.

When Steve and Kristie began dating, they decided not to tell everyone who she was immediately. Of course, Steve still had to explain where he was when they couldn't fine them. Rather than cough up too much info, he explained that he was dating a girl in Bosnia and Kristie became known as "Bosnian Chick" or just "Bosnia".

1. There's also a tangental reference to a joke ad in a gaming magazine about "Beautiful Russian Gamers" looking for men which apparently fooled more than one gamer who read it.
